
BayStreet was
formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1986 by John
Miller.
The band, known as the Bay Street Blues Club through 1995, first performed
in public in Jacksonville Beach in 1987 and has played with such internationally
known musicians as Kenny Loggins, Koko Taylor (twice), Sawyer Brown, Clarence ãGatemouthä Brown,
The Platters, Little Jimmy King, Roy Buchanan, The Drifters (three times),
Chubby Checker, three times with Chuck Negron (Three Dog
Night), Mike Pinera (Blues Image, Iron Butterfly, Alice Cooper), Archie
Bell, Carl Gardner (the Coasters), Nicolette Larson, Charlie Musslewhite,
the Story, and harmonica bluesman William Clark. They have toured throughout
Florida, including St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Tallahassee,
Jacksonville
Beach, Fernandina, Atlantic Beach, Orange Park, Jacksonville, Neptune Beach,
and Ocala, and have performed in Atlanta, St. Simons and Jekyll Island,
Georgia, Charleston and Sumpter, S.C., Lexington, VA, Hope Town-Abaco Bahamas
and in the San Francisco Bay, California area. Their first recording,
DEMOS,
was released in 1994. Their first full length CD, Lighten
Up, was released in August, 1998. The CD EP Peace
was released in August, 1999. BayStreet compiled it's first MP3 DAM CD ECLECTRICITY!
late in 1999, followed closley by the release of ScrapBoot,
songs recorded from a live show at the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville,
FL.
