BayStreet first performed in Jacksonville Beach, Florida
in 1987, then known as the Bay Street Blues Club. In the beginning, John
and the boys were propogating the Blues, which was an almost non-existant
art form way back in the Eighties. Over the years, the group became well
known for genre bending exploring R&B, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Jam, Pop,
and all points in between. The line up has changed many times, but fans
have always known that they'd be in for a great live show everytime out.
BayStreet has been named three times as Jacksonville's favorite band,
including once being named Best Band With A Social Conscience. Recently,
they were given the Key to the City of Jacksonville Beach for their charitable
efforts. Over the years, they have released four CDs of original music,
and set lists routinely include a healthy dose of BayStreet's tunes together
with tasty covers. Many established bands have chosen BayStreet as an
opening act, including B.B. King, Styx, Kenny Loggins, Koko Taylor, Badfinger,
The Drifters, and more. While usually performing in the northeast Florida
region, the band has toured as far as the San Francisco Bay Area, The
Bahamas, Virginia, and the Carolinas. Both BayStreet and vocalist John
Miller plan to release CDs in 2007 while celebrating the band's 20th
year. |
